“Iran Flute Project” was a portion of my doctoral document based on Iranian pieces for flute with different ensembles. The idea started at an early age, when I was eagerly working with new composers and discovering new sounds for flute. Ever since, the idea of having a well-categorized database for Iranian flute music has been with me and I have been collecting scores and have been doing my best to commission new sounds for flute by Iranian composers.
In the first phase, “Iran Flute Project” will cover the flute music written after the year 2000. Searching, discovering and categorizing these sounds, can be an overwhelming task to accomplish but of course not impossible.
The “Iran Flute Project” will have other phases that go back in time and it can be divided into pre-1979 and post-1979 categories and include music written for any chamber ensembles (up to 5 performers).
This project is not supported by any organization right now, however, in the future, the founder and any collaborator might be able to seek help from credible reference organizations to discover, commission, sort and publish any of the material.
